Other Advice & Insights
Water
Tap water isn't safe to drink on the islands. Thankfully bottled water is inexpensive and sold in large bottles. Make sure you stock up at a corner store to stay hydrated!
Tipping
Read your receipt carefully - some restaurants automatically include the tip. If you do tip, try to leave it in cash as most servers won't get the tips off a credit card. You should tip tour guides a few Euros.
Must Try
Don't leave Greece without trying tzatziki, a cucumber yogurt dip paired with pita.
Moussaka is the epitome of Greek comfort food and is essentially an eggplant lasagna.
Budgeting
A reasonable budget for those opting for midrange travels (public transportation, casual restaurants, standard hotel) is €100-180 a day. Prices will vary and the islands might be a bit steeper.
